In June I had a very sick philodendron here at the Solar Innovations' greenhouse. Instead of being a healthy green it was yellow. It seemed to be getting worse by the day. The plant continued to become weaker and lose its green color. I tried to fertilize it more, but to no availl. Then I moved the plant underneath a bench in hopes of reduced sunlight. However, the problem persisted. My last hope was to move it to a sunroom on the property. This sunroom has a low-e glazing in its frame. The low-e reduces the amount of uv rays that can penetrate the room which helps to balance the temperature and reduce fading to furniture. This move did the trick, a month and a half later and the plant looks good as new. The leaves stopped burning nad it regained its green color again. The 240 glass has proven to be acceptable to shade plants.
