Recently I had a lot of left over metal in the greenhouse. I bought several hanging baskets which had wire rims that served no purpose. I removed them and just put them in the corner of the greenhouse. After some brainstorming I decided I could create a homemade trellis out of the squares. Taking twine, I strung the metal squares together. This proved a bit difficult because each piece is not exactly the same length and I did not tie each knot at the same point on the string. However, after I hung the trellis it looked decent to me. I am growing a cardinal vine up the trellis. The plant will only reach maturity in the fall, long after the outdoor cardinal vines have hit full maturity. It will be exciting to see that color in the middle of the greenhouse.
