The Solar team completed Phase II of the building enhancement solar panel project for its corporate office and manufacturing facility right before the new year. Solar currently awaits inspection for the new solar array. Many team members worked on the project in an effort to complete it before 2011's end. The project required aluminum racks to be assembled in the shop. These racks were built and staged outside the manufacturing facility to be craned to the facility's roof. Once placed on the roof, each unit needed to be mounted in a specific location and apart from the other racks to avoid shading and maximize each panel's efficiency. The solar panels were craned to the roof independent of the racks. Each rack holds 14 solar panels. The second phase consisted of approximately 80 racks and 1100 solar panels. Solar would like to thank the team for a job well done and looks forward to starting Phase III of the solar panel process in the Spring. Solar Innovations, Inc. is now approximately 66% off the grid.
