Winter always brings snow and cold temperatures which prevent gardeners in the north from growing plants. At the end of fall, the growing season ends. The addition of a greenhouse allows gardeners to continue growing. When the greenhouse is heated, anything can be grown. Pennsylvania had snow this week and we are still growing tropical plants. It is cold outside, but the heaters keep the greenhouse warm and allow for all types of plants to grow. Shown in this corner of the greenhouse are a fern, umbrella palm, a rubber plant and small banana tree, lemon plant, and a pond. The temperature inside stays around seventy degrees and is sufficient for all the plants. Being able to garden in the winter is an escape from the cold weather and harsh winds.
